As reported on Community Mobilization the Second Life Relay For Life is now over and I have come up for air. It was an amazing event this year with well over 1,100 people walking the track
and donations reaching upwards of $40,000.00! The event itself was
exceptional with hundreds of people at a time enjoying the amazing
architecture builds by Aimee Weber and the design volunteers. They are
all listed and thanked over on the Second Life Insider. I owe a huge enormous thank you to Jade Lily
who, for the second year in a row, did a masterful job organizing an
cadre of volunteers. Without their hard work this never would have been
possible.
We are already looking forward to the 2008 event as well as looking to
cary this great Relay momentum forward into expanding the Society’s
presence and service in SL. We are excited by the positive feedback
from our volunteers and those who just came to the event. I hope
everyone will keep an eye on the Second Life Relay For Life web site for more details.
