  • Exchanged US$239,000 at an average of US$10,000.0 per hour.
  • Market buys were US$164,000
  • Market sales were US$73,000
  • Limit-limit buys were US$2,200
  • The busiest time was at 1pm when about US$18,000 was exchanged.
  • The quietest time was 11pm when about US$4,000 was exchanged.
  • On WSE US$6,800 of stock changed hand. The WSE1000 was L$1227, up L$390

Happy Beltaine to those that celebrate such things. And happy worker’s day to those that mark that.

The end of one day and the beginning of anotherToday in Second Life we had:

  • 22,362 new signups bringing us to 5,975,833 signups total.
  • A peak concurrency of 38,023 at 2:43PM, and a minimum concurrency of 20,237 at 1:16AM. Average concurrency for the day was 27,275.
  • There was an open letter to Linden Lab posted some time back. It didn’t gain a lot of traction initially, but it’s been reposted and is doing the rounds again. Robin Linden has given an initial response to that letter on behalf of Linden Lab.
  • Signup rates remain lackluster, but even at the depressed signup rates, the six millionth signup is due in approximately 24 hours.

Waiting for the grid.Well… we’ll never know what bits actually triggered it, but The Official Blog contains a preliminary response to the open letter (reported here, and promises a more detailed response in the days to come.

This is the first time I remember Linden Lab responding to such a letter, although they have, in fairness responded to a number of major issues in times gone by but never to an open letter.

Waiting for the grid.According to a reliable source, in an effort to make LL actually respond to the open letter recently sent to them, Cris has taken the previously unprecedented move of sending the letter to the board of directors too.

Given they’ll be looking at a lot of their cash cows, now that LL is making a profit, complaining about the service, will they be able to pressure Philip where previous complaints from residents seems to slide like water off a duck’s back?

In the mean time the gird is howling under the strain, with clothes not rezzing, tps failing, presence dodgy, all the usual - just adding weight to the complaints in the letter.
