Today in Second Life we had:
- 24,135 new signups bringing us to 5,887,493 signups total.
- A peak concurrency of 34,845 at 1:34PM. Average concurrency for the day was 18,943.
- The grid was to be shut down for one hour at 10am today to inject assorted fixes. That turned out to start a half hour late, and run an hour longer than planned. Rather more annoyingly it wasn’t really clear what was supposed to be fixed as a part of this urgent update — and nothing visible apparently has been fixed and the update appears to have injected a new issue.
- Robin Linden wrote more on the new specialist liaison teams.
- Linden Lab announced the Speech Gestures Contest, where you can win a prize — the nature of which has not been decided. How can you resist?
